                      Yoga And Mental Health                                     10 TH OCTOBER  2021 WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY                                      (Mental health in an unequal world -theme of this year) Most of us believe the yoga is meant for fitness and flexibility and goes synonymous with  the posture (asanas). It is presumed to be just a physical act with bending, twisting and balancing, and assume that  one has to be flexible and strong. With religious practice, one soon understands the yoga is bringing the balance of mind, body and the inner spirit (soul) and live in harmony with self and surrounding. The word 'Yoga ' originates from Sanskrit word 'Yuj' which means union. Yoga is uniting of individual self with the universal self.  According to Patanjali, Yoga is  a conscious  effort to gain mastery  over mind.                                                        ( Yogaha chitta vritti norodaha).
