Vaccination For Covid 19

                 Vaccination For Covid 19

                                                                  TAKE THE JAB

DO YOUR BIT AND GET VACCINATED

                                                            "Vaccine is our best hope".

India has opened Covid 19 vaccination to all people above 18- 45 years. Taking the shot is important. The vaccination drive have been dogged by hesitancy, despite the shots being rigorously tested to be safe. Vaccine is given in the left arm, nurse usually administer the vaccine shot. There are no pain whatsoever, much lesser than what one would experience after getting a shot of Tetanus toxoid.

Everyone needs the vaccine, even though some may not want it. With the prick of the injection of first dose of vaccine all you worries will disappear. You will feel more than relieved. There is no reason to be afraid of the vaccine. As a responsible citizen it is our duty to join hands with government and front line workers and to step up for getting vaccinated. Being vaccinated we will  not only save our families from getting infected but also help in breaking the chain of infections.

The vaccination process will deliver respite from the threat of Covid-19. Vaccines are the best bet  to beat the disease. Step up, and take the jab.

"When there is no particular medicine available for Covid 19, vaccination is necessary."

"To end pandemic 70%  people has to be vaccinated."
Introduction
If we compared the side effects of vaccines for Measles, Diphtheria, Rabies, Mumps, Tetanus, and Influenza with Covid, it is much safer. As shot is a must even if you are infected with Covid 19. Being a doctor I know benefits of vaccine. Reaction is not a must.

"Please take jab as soon as you become eligible without delay."

People are always scared of a new thing, but people should trust doctors. We are living in a world where there will always be microorganism. We have to survive among them, and fight with the harmful ones. A vaccine  is our  best hope of fighting such pathogens and we should fight with a the positive hope.

Generally people ask the question which shot is better, Covaxin or Covishield. The companies manufacturing theses vaccines - Bharat Biotech (Covaxin) and Serum institute of India (Covishield) - have published a list of possible side effects of respective vaccines could lead to. These ranges from pain at injection site to chills, body ache and nausea.
Both the vaccine work well, and one should take either shot without any hesitancy regardless of whether one has infected with Covid 19 in the past or not.

Vaccines are  a critical defense system against Covid-19 waves.Vaccine can be a game changer

We have to vaccinate the entire world and countries need to have a  high enough percentage of people vaccinated- somewhere between 75-85% in order to reach heard immunity. When that happens, Covid won,t go away but the variant won't appear quickly and the virus won't spread.

Target 990 million population has to be vaccinated at the end of year 2021 in India.
Till date 22 July 2021 only 87 million are vaccinated.

Myth buster
Myth vaccines are useless against new variants.
Why it's false
New variants can make Sars-Cov-2 spread more readily or resist antibodies triggered by a  past infection or vaccines designed on the basis of the version that was predominant previously. While variant could be  in some cases, reduce efficacy, there is little evidence they will make a vaccine redundant completely. Trials suggest most work against new variants. Even if vaccine loses efficacy, expert say it will still be able to  prevent disease or death.

Myth  Certain foods or alcohol should be avoided before or after taking vaccine.
Why it's false
The current class of vaccines is delivered intramuscular as an injection. The mechanism of action is not dependent on digestion, unlike medication that is ingested. People are free to follow any sorts of diet. Conversely, there is little research to suggest any food  can help increase potency of vaccine.

Myth  Corona virus vaccine can alter people's DNA.
Why it's false
Corona virus vaccines are nor engineered to alter DNA, some of them only carry the  genetic code for the spike protein, which the virus uses  to enter human cells.

Myth  Indian Covid 19 vaccines are sub-par, better to wait for others.
Why it's false
Efficacy rates between vaccines cannot exactly be compared. The Indian vaccines, as well as the others, have an efficacy of more than 50%- the bare minimum that needed for an inoculation to have a meaningful impact on the pandemic. Moreover both the vaccines offer  near complete protection from severe disease or illness, which make them an invaluable  tool to fight  a disease that kills roughly 1 in every 100 people it infect.

Myth  Vaccines are developed too quickly, hence they are not safe.
Why it's false
Research into  Corona viruses for vaccines have been  underway, since 2001 when the SARS outbreak took place and was accelerated when  Mers emerged a few years later.. Both these corona virus gave  scientists  close insights that also apply to the Sars-Cov-2. Similarly the vaccine technologies  used are also tried and tested. Even the newest platform,mRNA, has been in development for three decades now. Safety has also been established in trails. If they wee to cause serious side effects, the world would have already found out about these.

Myth  Vaccines are developed too quickly, hence, they are not safe.
Why it's false
