Menstrual cramps can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include normal periods, heavy periods, wind or constipation.

Lifestyle
  • Having a lot of fluid also helpful.
  • If you can't drink plain water , have fruit infused water.
  • Coconut water.
  • Taking a relaxing warm shower.
  • Getting a body massage using lavender, peppermint and rose oil.



Exercise
  • Exercising regularly can control this condition.
  • Jogging.
  • Yoga.




Diet
  • Cutting down on processed food can prevent relief from cramps.
  • Increasing fiber intake in diet also helps to reduce symptoms.

  • Applying a heat pad over the lower abdomen.

Treatment
  • TENS machine : After learning how to use it by an expert , you can also safely use a TENS machine that works on the principle of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS)
  • Intake of certain teas such as Chamomile tea, ginger or mint tea, and fennel seed tea have been known to help.
  • However if you have severe cramps, don't delay visiting your Gynecologists' to decide the line of treatment.
