Workout Heart Attack

                   Workout Heart Attack

                                                    (A Heart Attack while exercising)

Recently many young people died after collapsing in a gym. Their health condition deteriorated after their workout sessions and lead to their eventual death. As cases like these spread frenzy among gym enthusiasts, gym owners and trainers turn extra vigilant to encourage the safe gymming practices.

Sudden cardiac death during strenuous physical activity occurs more often in cases where blockages are undiagnosed, and sometimes in the background of a known diagnosis. Vigorous exercise can also cause plaque rupture or trigger electrical disturbances in the heart leading to cardiac arrest.

Recent cases of celebs suffering from heart attack at gyms has come as a shock. Even a minor negligence can lead to severe situations.

                               "Cannot blame exercise. Maintain healthy lifestyle".

Introduction
Medical history is a personal thing, but we must always share it with our trainers so that they can plan our workout accordingly. If they know our medical history than they will know till what point one can stretch. Every individual has a different body and metabolism, so we should set our goals accordingly;

There can occur a heart failure, when one indulgences in supplements and steroids;

Keep test reports handy ; CPR certified  fitness coach urges gym goers to be mindful of their medical records. If you have health issues, you must talk to your trainer and share your reports before starting.
Suppose some one is allergic or asthmatic or take any kinds of supplements, it is important to keep the blood test report with you.
Someone complains even a headache it is important to note that the body was already in pain. Hence it is crucial to attend the internal issues first.

                                  "Eating right and sleeping properly is the key."
  • We cannot blame exercise, but can limit things to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Take up mandatory stretching and warm-ups before any heavy weight lifting.
  • Reducing caffeine intake is also crucial, as it should be in the range of 200mg to 400mg.
  • See your pulmonologist if you have a history of asthma or lung related issues and get pulmonary function test done
  • Exercising in moderation has the best benefits.(or half your capacity according to Ayurveda).
  • Stop at the first sign of discomfort such as chest uneasiness, labored breathing unusual sweats, headache, giddiness, pain radiation to arms, back jaw, nausea or palpitations.
  • Do not take steroid based supplements or synthetic protein powders.
  • Don't exercise until two hours after a heavy meal.

All Trainers Need To Know CPR now
It is important that a trainer knows CPR (cardio pulmonary resuscitation), so that in case of any emergency, they can save a life. Gym owners should ensure that all trainers employed are equipped to perform CPR.

All the trainers have are certified to impart fitness training and know how to give CPR.
One should not indulge in excess workout. and use of steroids.

Less Treadmill, More Weight Training

People should workout in moderation (To be on a safer side work out half of their capacity according
to Ayurveda) As some people try to do extra workout). It is important that client should get individual attention from trainers. People should focus on weight training instead of spending more time on treadmill.

Gym should take neccessary precautions before subjecting the clients to hard core workouts
Keep Test Reports Handy.
  • If you are 30 or above or have a history of hypertension or diabetes or cholesterol or coronary heart disease in the family, you must get tested.
  • One must get assessed by a physician or cardiologist :
  • Lipid Profile
  • Cholesterol Levels.
  • Treadmill Test :prior to join a gym.
  • 2 D echo :prior to join a gym.
  • Pulmonary Function Test  :For Asthmatics. Also Post Covid 19.
  • BMI :Check Body Mass Index.
  • D Dimer Test : Post Covid 19  we need to do the test that tells us  whether our blood is forming clots.  Covid 19 is leading to blood clotting and that can be dangerous.
  • Homocysteine Blood Test A homocysteine test is a blood test. It measures the amount of homocysteine, an amino acid in the body. The test is often used to diagnose vitamin B6, B9 or B12 deficiency. People with elevated homocysteine may have a higher risk for cardiovascular disease. Like homocysteine blood test is related to the heart and everyone should be aware of it.
