A cup of tea in the morning energizes one like no other. And for tea lovers, just one cup is seldom enough ! If you are someone who loves their tea  you may have reasons to watch  how many cups you are sipping in a day.

Tea is a popular beverage consumed by millions of people  around the world, often hailed for its numerous health benefits. It is made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant. Generally tea is low in calories, contains antioxidants  known as polyphenols, which helps protects the body against oxidative damages  caused by free radicals . Tea also has a caffeine which is a natural stimulant that can help improve  focus and alertness. But as they say "Any thing in excess id harmful."

Side Effects of drinking too much tea

"Majorly, the side effect of drinking too much tea  are related to the caffeine content or tannin content  in it.  be it black , green or milk tea. It must be consumed in moderation.
Risk associated with extra tea consumption :

Disturbed Sleep
Consuming tea can have calming effects when consumed in moderation, but when overdone , the same can lead to anxiety, stress and restlessness. This is because tea contains caffeine , a natural stimulant that can interfere  with sleep and trigger the release of stress hormone. in the body.

Acid Reflux
Some people may experience nausea  or acid reflux when consuming an excessasive amount of tea. This is due to a tannins present  in tea, which can irritate the digestive system  when consumed in large quantities. Similarly when tea is often , used as an natural remedy  for headaches . Excessive consumption can actually trigger  headaches in some individuals . 

Interfering with iron absorption
Tea contains compounds called tannins that can bind to iron and inhibit its absorption. Therefore excessasive tea consumption, may lead to iron deficiency and  anemia, especially in those already at risk  of this condition.

Dental troubles
Tea specially black tea , can stain your teeth  over time . In addition, the high level of tannins can contribute to the  formation of plague and cavities.. Therefore to maintain good dental hygiene , limit your intake.

Conditioning effect
Excessive tea consumption can lead to  caffeine dependance . This means your body becomes reliant on caffeine to function properly . You may even experience withdrawal symptoms, when you try to cut down  on your tea intake.

Dehydration
Excessive tea consumption  can lead to dehydration especially in summer. Drinking too much of it can  lead to more fluid  loss than you consume.
